Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between TTS characters and recording minutes?
They're two separate allowances. TTS characters are used when you type text and convert it to speech, while recording minutes are used when you upload or record audio for transcription. Each plan lists both limits separately, plus a translation-character allowance for anything you translate.
Do I need a credit card to try Cloudax AI?
No. Every new account starts on the Free plan automatically, no card required. You can generate speech, upload a short recording, and try translation before deciding whether to upgrade.
What happens when I run out of characters or minutes?
Your usage is tracked per plan and resets automatically at the start of each new billing period. If you hit a limit before then, further requests of that type are paused until your quota resets or you upgrade to a plan with more room.
What do I actually get from an uploaded recording?
You get a diarized transcript with timestamps, an AI-generated summary with key points and action items, and downloadable SRT/VTT subtitle files. If you request translations, each language you add is generated as its own transcript and draws from your translation allowance.
How does the sermon scripture feature work?
If you mark a recording as a sermon, Cloudax AI automatically detects Bible references spoken in the audio and lists them alongside the transcript. Each reference links straight to the moment it was spoken, so you can jump right to it.
How long do you keep my audio and transcripts?
Original uploaded audio is deleted 30 days after upload to keep storage lean, but your transcript, translations, summary and scripture references stay available until you delete the recording yourself. Uploads that are never confirmed are cleared out within 24 hours, and audio from failed recordings is removed after 7 days.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time as your needs change. Moving to a higher plan gives you more TTS characters, recording minutes and translation characters each month, all metered independently.
What audio formats can I upload for transcription?
Cloudax AI accepts the common audio and video formats you'd typically record or export with, including MP3, WAV, M4A, WebM and MP4. If your file uses one of these, you're good to go.
